You were treated with light.

Treatment with light is also called light therapy. Certain rays and strengths of light are used for different illnesses. They can be used to treat inflammation or destroy diseased cells.

Before your light therapy you received a specific medication. The medication can be applied to the skin or taken as a tablet. Sometimes the medication is also injected into a blood vessel. The medication is intended to make the skin or mucous membrane more sensitive to light therapy.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
