The secure exchange of medical data: telematics infrastructure

The telematics infrastructure (TI) enables the secure exchange of sensitive medical data, for example between medical practices, hospitals and pharmacies. One typical usage is the e-prescription.

From January 2025, everyone in Germany with statutory health insurance will receive the “electronic patient record for all” from their provider, allowing them to view their personal health data.

The HealthID as a digital identity in healthcare

People can use the HealthID to identify themselves online and avail of digital healthcare services. The HealthID is issued by their health insurance provider.
