Radiotherapy: Intraoperative radiotherapy with X-ray radiation
During tumor surgery you were treated with X-rays.
Treatment with radiation is also called radiotherapy. Radiotherapy involves the use of a device that forms particularly high-energy rays. These rays are used to target radiation at specific areas of the body to destroy diseased tissue. Radiation is carried out in such a way that healthy tissue is protected as much as possible.
The X-rays were used on your body once the tumor had been removed. After this kind of tumor removal, individual tumor cells may remain in the body. The X-rays are supposed to destroy these tumor cells.
Additional indicator
