Treatment with radiation is also called radiotherapy. Radiotherapy involves the use of a device that forms particularly high-energy rays. These rays are used to target radiation at specific areas of the body to destroy diseased tissue. Radiation is carried out in such a way that healthy tissue is protected as much as possible.

Your radiotherapy involved rays consisting of special small particles that were greatly accelerated. With radiation involving these kinds of particles, it is possible to very easily control which tissue is targeted with radiation.
