Other operations on the mamma: Operations on the nipple: Surgical eversion of an inverted nipple
Your nipple inversion has been corrected.
The breast is made up of fatty tissue, connective tissue and the mammary gland. Milk is produced in the mammary gland during and after pregnancy so that the child can be fed. Milk from the mammary gland passes through the milk ducts to the nipple and from there outwards.
A nipple can be inverted as a result of short lactiferous ducts or other tissue within the nipple. Various techniques can be used to help the nipple to project outwards. For example, the milk ducts or tissue within the nipple are stretched or cut for this purpose.
