5-235.1:

Removal and restoration of teeth: Replantation, transplantation, implantation and stabilization of a tooth: Transplantation

You have had a tooth transplanted.

Every tooth consists of 3 sections: the crown, the tooth neck (cervix) and the tooth root. The crown is the visible part of the tooth. The tooth neck is covered by the gums. The tooth root keeps the tooth in the jawbone. The tooth is anchored firmly in the jawbone by the periodontium. This ligament includes, among other things, the outermost layer of the tooth root and the gums. The periodontium also includes the hole in the jawbone in which the tooth is located.

You have had another tooth transplanted in place of a missing tooth. The transplanted tooth was inserted into the corresponding hole in the jawbone at the appropriate location. For this purpose, for example, a tooth of your own that is not needed is used like a wisdom tooth. Wisdom teeth are right at the back of the mouth at the end of a row of teeth. A foreign tooth can also be used and transplanted.
