Other diagnostic measures: Additional information on diagnostic measures: Type of cystoscope: Single use flexible cystoscope

A flexible tube was used for the endoscopy of your bladder.

The bladder sits low down in the abdomen and collects the urine. The urine is produced in the two kidneys. The urine flows from the kidneys into the bladder via the ureters. When you pass water, the urine flows from the bladder via the urethra and out.

Endoscopy is used to examine the bladder from the inside. The procedure involved inserting the flexible tube into your bladder. Usually, instruments such as the flexible tube are cleaned after the procedure using special processes. They can then be used again. A special tube was used in your case. This is used only once and disposed of after the examination.
