1-698.1:
Incisional and intraoperative diagnostic endoscopy: Diagnostic endoscopy of central nervous system by puncture, incision and intraoperatively: Intraspinal diagnostic endoscopy
You have had an epiduroscopy (endoscopy of the spinal canal).
The spinal canal is made up of the individual vertebrae in the spine. The spinal canal contains the spinal cord, for example. The spinal cord is made up of nerve fibers. The brain uses the nerve fibers to exchange information with the organs, skin and muscles.
To examine the spinal canal using endoscopy, an opening is created by making an incision through the skin on the back. A thin tube or scope is then passed through the opening into the spinal canal. There is a camera at the top of the tube or scope. This camera is used to transmit images to the outside during the examination. In this way, the inside of the spinal canal can be viewed and assessed for any changes.
