T53.1: Toxic effect: Chloroform
You have chloroform poisoning.
Chloroform can be used, among other things, as a solvent and as a cleaning agent. However, due to its harmful properties, the use of chloroform is severely restricted.
A substance can be absorbed into the body in different ways and result in poisoning. A substance can be inhaled, swallowed or absorbed via contact with the skin, for example. The symptoms can vary depending on how the substance got into the body.
Poisoning with chloroform can cause nausea and vomiting. Consciousness may be disturbed. You may also have an irregular heartbeat. It may also be that organs such as the liver become damaged.
