Diseased tissue has been removed from your large intestine (colon).

The large intestine is where water and minerals are removed from the partially digested food (chyme). The stool is then excreted via the rectum. The inside of the large intestine is lined with mucous membrane.

The treatment involved inserting a tube through your rectum and pushing it into your large intestine. Images from the examined area can be transmitted to the outside via the tube. It can then be seen whether the tissue is healthy or changed. Small tools can be pushed through at the front of the tube to remove the tissue.

A special tube was used in your case. There was a soft spiral on part of this tube. A motor rotated the soft spiral so that the tube moved through your intestine in rotating movements. In this way the tube could be pushed a long way into your intestine.

One or two membrane bulges have been removed from your large intestine.
